You are involved with Pulse Check. What does your daily work look like?

Communicating and connecting with colleagues from different departments has been the most important component for ensuring participation in Pulse check. Aligning with all the HR Business Partners to ensure that the proper communication regarding the importance and the anonymity of Pulse check is communicated with all colleagues, preparing and sharing reminders and nudges to encourage more participation. Beside Pulse check as CSR Lead, every day is different. It can include planning and reviewing project proposals, visiting the CSR project site to take a review, reconciling finance and ensuring Compliances. Along with CSR, I am also responsible for internal HR communications and employee engagement activities. This keeps me busy with drafting and editing several employee communications, planning projects, ensuring smooth execution and connecting with colleagues.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

No two days are ever same. Every day I have a new challenge that pushes me to understand my own capabilities and become a better individual. Also, I get to connect with people from different backgrounds both within the organisation and outside. Sharing stories, experiences and knowledge is the best way to learn, unlearn and grow.

You are involved with Pulse Check. What does your daily work look like?

Since the start of the Pulse Check, I have regularly monitored the participation rates of all our sites and have contacted the local contact persons, pointing out deviations and thus ensuring a meaningful result. My role is not only to report, but also to raise awareness. I also act as a sparring partner for our local contacts on how we can reach even more employees. Together we develop communication concepts, measures and incentives. Last year, for example, we donated money to a charity for every pulse check completed. I am also available at our Essen site to answer questions and manage internal communications via newsletters, Sharepoint and postings.
